**New Delhi, February 17, 2025** – A 4.0 magnitude earthquake struck Delhi and its surrounding areas this morning at 5:36 AM IST, prompting residents to rush out of their homes. The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) reported the epicenter near Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education in Dhaula Kuan, with a focal depth of five kilometers. While strong tremors were felt across Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and Ghaziabad, there have been no immediate reports of significant damage or injuries.

Witnesses described a loud sound accompanying the shaking. One vendor at New Delhi Railway Station recounted the scene, stating that “everything was shaking” and customers screamed in fear. Another resident of Ghaziabad described the tremors as the strongest they had ever experienced. A passenger at the railway station said the shaking felt like a train running underground.
