Sun Feb 16 14:32:32 UTC 2025: ## Two Convicts Die at Tiruchi Hospital
**Tiruchi, February 16, 2025** – Two convicts undergoing treatment at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital in Tiruchi passed away on Saturday. The deceased were identified as N. Kuppusamy, 89, of Ariyalur district, and S. Pechimuthu, 67, of Thanjavur district.
Kuppusamy, a life convict in a POCSO Act case, had been imprisoned at the Tiruchi Central Prison since April 2022. Pechimuthu, serving a life sentence for murder since July 2013, was also incarcerated at the same prison. Both men were admitted to the hospital on February 12th due to illness.
The Government Hospital police station has filed separate cases based on complaints from a prison official.
