**Belagavi, Karnataka – February 17, 2025** – A devastating fire claimed the lives of six cattle and destroyed farm equipment belonging to a family in Kaduru village, Rattihalli taluk, on Saturday night. The Asundi family, consisting of farmers Nagappa and Hanumanthappa, estimated their total losses at ₹10 lakh.
The fire, which broke out after midnight, prompted villagers to attempt to extinguish the flames. However, a delay in the arrival of the Fire and Emergency Services hampered rescue efforts, resulting in the loss of all six animals.
MLA U.B. Banakar visited the affected family and offered his condolences, assuring them of government assistance. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
