RAMESWARAM, February 16, 2025 – The Tamil Nadu government announced a ₹6.5 crore investment to upgrade tourism infrastructure in Dhanushkodi and surrounding areas in the Ramanathapuram district. Tourism Minister R. Rajendran, during a Sunday inspection tour, revealed the plan, which includes improvements to the TTDC hotel near Agneetheertham, the installation of a high-mast lamp near the Seeniappa dargah, and enhanced facilities inside and outside the Rameswaram temple. Further plans include a helipad near Dhanushkodi. The Minister highlighted the district’s high tourist numbers (over two crore) as justification for the investment and emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness to attract more visitors. Renovations to the TTDC hotel’s rooms and kitchen are also planned.
