**Jammu, February 16, 2025** – A brief exchange of fire occurred along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. Security officials reported that an Indian Army post in the Gulpur sector came under fire from a forested area across the LoC around 11:30 a.m. Indian soldiers retaliated, and the exchange lasted only a short time. No damage was reported on the Indian side.
The source of the fire remains unclear, with officials stating that it could have been either the Pakistan army or terrorists operating from the forested area. This incident follows several cross-border incidents last week, including an IED explosion that resulted in the death of two army personnel and injuries to two others.
While ceasefire violations have decreased significantly since the 2021 agreement between India and Pakistan, this latest incident highlights the ongoing tensions along the border.
