**Mumbai, India –** The Women’s Premier League (WPL) is set to return for its third season, kicking off on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 2025. The tournament will feature five teams – Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Gujarat Giants (GG), Delhi Capitals (DC), Mumbai Indians (MI), and UP Warriorz – battling it out in a 22-match season culminating in the final on March 15th at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

The opening match will see the defending champions, RCB, facing the Gujarat Giants in Vadodara, giving the Giants home advantage. While RCB claimed victory in the second season, MI won the inaugural WPL.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a lucrative revenue-sharing model for the franchises. For the first five years, 80% of competition profits will be distributed, decreasing to 60% in the following five seasons and 50% from season 11 to 15. Franchises will also receive 80% of revenue from central licensing rights, with additional income streams from merchandise, ticket sales, and advertising.

Several individual records are currently held: Meg Lanning (DC) leads in runs (676), Sophie Devine (RCB) holds the highest individual score (99), Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning share the highest partnership (162), Verma has the most sixes (33), Lanning boasts the most fifties (6), Sophie Ecclestone (UPW) has the most wickets (27), and Ellyse Perry (RCB) achieved the best bowling figures (6/15). Richa Ghosh (RCB) leads in dismissals as a wicket-keeper (22), while Radha Yadav (DC) holds the most catches (12). Delhi Capitals recorded the highest team total (223/2), while Gujarat Giants had the lowest (64).
