Sat Feb 15 05:00:18 UTC 2025: ## Delhi High Court Extends Bail for Brother of Convicted Politician Kuldeep Sengar
**New Delhi, February 15, 2025** – The Delhi High Court has extended the interim bail of Jaideep Sengar, brother of expelled BJP leader Kuldeep Sengar, until March 11. Jaideep, also known as Atul Singh, was granted interim bail on medical grounds due to his battle with mouth cancer.
Jaideep is serving a 10-year prison sentence for his involvement in the custodial death of the father of an Unnao rape survivor. The father died in April 2018, allegedly due to police brutality following his arrest at the behest of the Sengar brothers. Kuldeep Sengar himself was sentenced to life imprisonment in December 2019 for the rape of the minor survivor in 2017.
The court’s decision follows a request from Jaideep’s counsel to suspend his sentence until the matter could be fully addressed. The High Court previously granted interim bail in July 2024, with subsequent extensions in November 2024 and now February 2025. The CBI has been ordered to submit a status report to the court before the next hearing.
