Fri Feb 14 19:51:27 UTC 2025: ## Sufi Music Group to Perform in Kozhikode as Part of ‘Symphony of Harmony’
**KOZHIKODE, February 15, 2025** – The internationally acclaimed Sufi music troupe, ‘Char Yaar’, will perform in Kozhikode on Monday, February 17th, as part of a concert titled “Symphony of Harmony.” The event, organized by Deshiya Manavika Vedi under the auspices of UNESCO City of Literature, aims to promote unity through music and combat communalism.
The concert will take place at Freedom Square on Kozhikode Beach. Mayor Beena Philip, chairperson of the event, highlighted the group’s diverse membership and their reputation for harmonious performances. The troupe consists of Madan Gopal Singh (music director and orator), Dileep Castelino (guitarist and banjo player specializing in Western music, jazz, and pop), Preetham Ghoshal (Sarod player and disciple of Ustad Amjad Ali Khan), and Amjad Khan (percussionist).
Following the Kozhikode performance, Char Yaar will also perform in Perinthalmanna (February 18th), Chavakkad (February 19th), and Palakkad (February 20th). The event’s co-chairperson, writer Khadeeja Mumtaz, and other committee members were present at Friday’s press conference.
