**Chennai, February 15, 2025** – Nine-time MLA and former AIADMK Minister K.A. Sengottaiyan’s public expression of dissatisfaction over party affairs has ignited concerns of internal strife within the party. Sengottaiyan, a prominent figure in Erode district and a former minister under Jayalalithaa and Edappadi K. Palaniswami, publicly voiced his displeasure over the omission of former Chief Ministers M.G. Ramachandran and Jayalalithaa’s images from a recent event honoring Palaniswami. He also criticized the party’s loss in the 2021 Anthiyur Assembly election.

While initial party responses were dismissive, senior leaders are now attempting to appease Sengottaiyan, acknowledging his long-standing grievances. Party deputy general secretary K.P. Munusamy expressed hope for Sengottaiyan’s continued loyalty, emphasizing his past contributions. R.B. Udhayakumar, Deputy Leader of the Opposition, downplayed the incident as “settled.”

However, some party officials believe Sengottaiyan’s public airing of grievances was inappropriate, particularly considering the party’s past losses in Anthiyur. The differing responses to Sengottaiyan’s concerns compared to the party’s strong reaction to similar comments from BJP Tamil Nadu president K. Annamalai have also sparked debate.

Despite the varying opinions on Sengottaiyan’s actions, there’s a unanimous agreement within the AIADMK that internal conflicts must be resolved to focus on the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections.
