Fri Feb 14 20:09:22 UTC 2025: ## Delhi Congress Leader Slams BJP’s Delay in Naming CM, AAP’s LoP Silence
**NEW DELHI, February 15, 2025** – Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav criticized both the BJP and AAP on Friday for delays in naming key leadership positions following the recent Delhi Assembly elections. The BJP, which secured a landslide victory with 48 out of 70 seats, has yet to announce its Chief Minister, a delay Yadav attributes to an internal power struggle. He cited reports of nearly 10 BJP MLAs vying for the top post, drawing parallels to the party’s leadership changes in 1993 when Delhi saw three Chief Ministers in five years.
Yadav also targeted the AAP, which won 22 seats, for failing to name its Leader of the Opposition (LoP). He alleged that this delay stems from an internal power struggle between outgoing CM Atishi and senior leaders like Gopal Rai, suggesting that AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal prefers a less influential LoP to maintain control from behind the scenes.
Urging the BJP to swiftly form the Delhi government, Yadav called for immediate action on pressing issues such as pollution, infrastructure, and inflated utility bills. He emphasized that the BJP’s decisive victory mandates decisive leadership to address long-standing problems. The Congress, which failed to win any seats for the third consecutive election, was last in power in Delhi from 1998 to 2013.
