**New Delhi, February 16** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to Delhi today after a productive two-nation visit to France and the United States. The trip marked the first meeting between PM Modi and US President Donald Trump since Trump’s second inauguration.

In Washington, PM Modi and President Trump held a four-hour meeting at the White House, covering a broad spectrum of issues including strategic and security cooperation, defense, trade, technology, energy security, and global concerns. Both leaders expressed their commitment to strengthening the India-US relationship. President Trump highlighted the strong unity and friendship between the two nations, while PM Modi expressed confidence in advancing the strategic partnership. The meeting was described as “substantive and productive” by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.

The visit also included meetings with key US figures, including newly appointed Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.

Prior to his US visit, PM Modi spent three days in France. He co-chaired the AI Action Summit with French President Emmanuel Macron, participated in events focused on commerce, energy, and cultural exchange, and visited the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor project. The trip also included a visit to the Mazargues War Cemetery, where PM Modi paid tribute to Indian soldiers who perished in World Wars I and II. President Macron saw PM Modi off at the Marseille airport.

PM Modi’s visit to the US, coming just weeks after President Trump’s inauguration, underscores the high priority both nations place on the bilateral relationship. The Indian Prime Minister’s successful two-nation tour signifies continued global engagement and strategic partnerships.
