**Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, February 15, 2025** – The Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh has been awarded a ₹3 crore cash prize by the NITI Aayog under its Aspirational Districts Programme. The award recognizes the district’s exceptional progress in various key areas up to February 2025.
Kadapa is one of 36 districts nationwide to receive this incentive, selected from a pool of 112 aspirational districts. District Collector Cherukuri Sridhar attributed the success to significant improvements in financial literacy, increased banking access, a rise in digital transactions, and effective implementation of government schemes. These initiatives, he stated, have driven considerable social change within the district.
The ₹3 crore award will be allocated to job creation programs, supporting startups, and strengthening the district’s innovation ecosystem, according to Mr. Sridhar.
