**Chennai, February 15, 2025** – The Indian Institute of Technology Madras’ Centre for Responsible AI (CeRAI) has partnered with global healthcare giant Roche Diagnostics to advance research in ethical and responsible artificial intelligence (AI) for healthcare applications. Roche, a leading developer of in-vitro diagnostics and digital health solutions, has joined CeRAI as a gold consortium member.

The collaboration, formalized through a memorandum of understanding, will involve joint research projects focusing on AI analytics and solutions. Roche will also participate in policy discussions and contribute to the development of white papers.

A symposium held at IIT Madras on Monday highlighted the partnership’s commitment to developing ethical frameworks for AI in healthcare, ensuring equitable access and beneficial outcomes for all. CeRAI aims to establish itself as a leading authority in India, providing guidelines and policies for the accountable, explainable, and responsible deployment of AI systems. The partnership will combine Roche’s expertise in diagnostics and digital health with CeRAI’s focus on responsible AI research.
