**Hyderabad, February 15, 2025** – Animal charity Humane Society International India (HSI India) has undergone a rebranding, officially launching as Humane World for Animals India (HWAI). The change, unveiled by actress and animal welfare activist Amala Akkineni, aims to better reflect the organization’s broadened mission to combat animal cruelty globally while emphasizing its impact within India.
The new name and logo signify an expanded commitment to fighting all forms of animal cruelty and creating a world where animals are treated humanely, according to an official press release. HWAI Managing Director Alokparna Sengupta stated that the organization’s vision for India is a humane future for animals, benefiting both animals and people. HWAI plans to continue strengthening the animal protection movement, addressing systemic issues and tackling the root causes of animal suffering.
