**Thiruvananthapuram, February 15, 2025** – The post-mortem examination of Gopan Swamy, a self-styled priest who was initially reported to have achieved “samadhi,” has revealed multiple injuries, but the cause of death remains undetermined.
Swamy’s death sparked controversy after his family claimed he had attained spiritual enlightenment and buried him in a concrete chamber on January 9th. Following public outcry, police exhumed the body on January 16th and conducted a post-mortem.
The examination revealed four contusions on Swamy’s body, but officials state these cannot definitively be linked to the cause of death. The report also detailed several serious pre-existing conditions, including liver cirrhosis, a kidney cyst, and significant coronary artery blockage.
