**New Delhi, February 15, 2025** – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) commenced its Class 10 and 12 board examinations today, with over 42 lakh students participating across India and 26 countries. This represents a significant increase of 314,695 students compared to last year.
Class 10 students are taking exams in 84 subjects, while Class 12 students are being assessed in 120. The exams, held at 7,842 centers, are being conducted under strict security protocols, including CCTV surveillance in each examination hall. Students are prohibited from bringing electronic devices or bags into examination centers. Late entry is not permitted; students must be present by 10:00 AM.
Today’s exams saw Class 10 students taking English papers, and Class 12 students sitting for the Entrepreneurship paper. The Class 10 exams will conclude on March 18, and the Class 12 exams on April 4.
CBSE Chairperson Rahul Singh stressed the importance of fair examination practices and wished students success, urging them to remain calm and focused. The board has also streamlined the marks verification process, allowing students to directly request photocopies of their answer sheets for review and subsequent re-evaluation if needed.
