**HAYWARD, CA** – A series of four earthquakes rattled the Hayward area Thursday, with the strongest registering a preliminary magnitude of 3.7, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The tremors, which began at 5:08 a.m. with a magnitude 2.7 quake, continued throughout the day. Two quakes of magnitudes 3.3 and 3.2 struck within two minutes of each other around noon. The largest quake hit just before 2 p.m.
Residents reported feeling the shaking as far away as Concord and Fremont. However, authorities have reported no injuries or significant damage. The USGS continues to monitor seismic activity in the region. Officials urge residents to review their earthquake preparedness plans and ensure they have emergency kits ready.
