Sat Feb 15 13:00:00 UTC 2025: **Southeast Michigan Braces for Weekend Snowstorm, Arctic Blast to Follow**

**DETROIT, MI (February 15, 2025)** – Southeastern Michigan is facing a significant winter storm this weekend, with a potential for substantial snowfall and icy conditions. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. Saturday.

A light coating of snow is already falling Saturday morning, with snow showers expected to continue throughout the day. Temperatures rising slightly above freezing may lead to a wintry mix, with a light glaze of ice possible south of I-96. Snow will return overnight as temperatures drop below freezing.

A stronger low-pressure system moving into the Ohio Valley will bring another round of heavier snowfall, beginning late Saturday and continuing through Sunday. Snow accumulations could reach 6 inches or more in some areas, particularly north of I-96. Gusty winds, reaching 30-35 mph, are expected Sunday afternoon and evening. The snow will taper off Sunday evening.

Following the weekend storm, an arctic blast will bring frigid temperatures early next week. Highs will only reach the teens, with wind chills potentially dropping well below zero Monday and Tuesday, possibly remaining below zero throughout Monday.
