**VISAKHAPATNAM, February 14, 2025** – The ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam will host two Indian Premier League (IPL) matches this season, the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) has confirmed. This follows recent renovations and upgrades to the stadium, which has been chosen as a second home ground by the Delhi Capitals (DC).
The stadium, previously hosting sold-out matches between DC and other teams last year, underwent significant improvements in recent months, including refurbished floodlights, toilets, and VIP areas. These upgrades, showcased to DC representatives, led to the franchise’s decision to schedule two matches there.
ACA secretary S. Satish Kumar stated that DC will likely play its first two matches at the ACA-VDCA Stadium, a change from initial plans. The DC team, boasting a star-studded lineup including KL Rahul, Axar Patel, and Mitchell Starc, is expected to arrive early for practice.
The announcement comes as the IPL season is set to begin on March 22nd, with the full schedule expected in the coming days. Notably, DC has yet to name its captain for the upcoming season following the non-retention of Rishabh Pant. The presence of these high-profile players is expected to draw large crowds to Visakhapatnam.
