**Chandigarh, India** – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against two Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) operatives for the murder of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Vikas Prabhakar (also known as Vikas Bagga) in Punjab.
Dharminder Kumar, alias Kunal, and fugitive Harwinder Kumar, alias Sonu (currently residing in Dubai), face charges under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the Indian Penal Code, and the Arms Act. Bagga was shot dead at his Nangal shop in April 2022.
The NIA investigation, which took over from Punjab Police in May 2023, reveals the murder was part of a wider conspiracy orchestrated by BKI leaders based in Pakistan, Germany, and other countries. The plot, allegedly directed by BKI leader Wadhawa Singh Babbar, involved Germany-based Harjit Singh (alias Laddi) and Kulbeer Singh (alias Sidhu) who provided logistical support, funding, and weapons.
Sonu is accused of transferring funds to India and arranging the weapons used in the attack, while Kunal sourced the weapons from Madhya Pradesh. The NIA has already chargesheeted Laddi, Sidhu, Wadhawa Singh, and shooters Mandeep Kumar (alias Mangli) and Surinder Kumar (alias Rikka). The investigation continues, with authorities pursuing outstanding suspects and further unraveling the international conspiracy.
