Sat Feb 15 11:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Egypt’s Meteorological Authority Warns of Sudden Temperature Drop and Fog

**Cairo, Egypt –** The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has issued a warning to citizens about a sudden drop in temperatures in the coming hours. The EMA predicts temperatures in some areas will approach freezing, with widespread fog expected in the early morning hours, particularly affecting agricultural roads and areas near bodies of water.

A statement released on the EMA’s official Facebook page details that Saturday’s weather will be moderately warm in Greater Cairo and Upper Egypt’s northern governorates. However, it will be chilly along the northern coast and in Lower Egypt, while remaining relatively warm in South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt. Temperatures will plummet significantly at night and in the early morning across most of the country.

The EMA specifically warned of dense fog in the early morning hours on agricultural and expressways, near waterways, and along the Nile River in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northern coast, northern Upper Egypt, and the Suez Canal cities.

Looking ahead, the EMA forecasts a return of light to moderate rain in the coming days, specifically Wednesday and Thursday, across the northern coast and northern Lower Egypt. Strong winds are also anticipated in the northern coast, Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, South Sinai, and southern Upper Egypt during certain periods.
