The case stems from an allegation that Mohan Babu seized and threw a wireless microphone at a journalist, causing serious injuries requiring a five-day hospital stay and jaw reconstruction surgery. The journalist’s counsel highlighted the severity of the injuries, stating the journalist was even tube-fed during recovery.
Mohan Babu’s defense argued that the incident occurred during a heated confrontation at his home, where his estranged son, accompanied by a large media crew (reportedly 20-30 people), had entered without permission. The defense maintained that the microphone was thrown in the heat of the moment and offered a public apology and compensation to the journalist.
