**Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala – February 13, 2025** – The Sreenarayanaguru Open University (SNOU) in Kerala inaugurated its “Oppam” affordable housing project yesterday, providing homes for students facing housing insecurity. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan handed over keys to the first three completed houses to beneficiaries from Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts. The project, announced in the university’s 2024-25 budget, initially constructs homes for 15 students, with plans to expand to house all students lacking suitable accommodation. SNOU officials hailed the initiative as a significant achievement for the four-year-old university.
