**Ahmedabad, February 13, 2025** – Comedian Samay Raina’s four scheduled shows in Gujarat have been cancelled following a public backlash sparked by controversial comments made on his YouTube reality show, “India’s Got Latent.” The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) confirmed the cancellations, stating that tickets, previously available on BookMyShow, have been removed.
The controversy originated from comments made by social media influencer Ranveer Allahbadia (“BeerBiceps”) on a recent episode of Raina’s show. Allahbadia’s remarks on parents and sex, which went viral on Monday, February 10th, led to widespread criticism and multiple police complaints in Mumbai and Guwahati. Allahbadia has since apologized.
Gujarat VHP spokesperson Hitendrasinh Rajput stated that Raina’s shows, planned for April in Surat, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad, have been cancelled due to public outrage. VHP regional secretary Ashvin Patel attributed the cancellations to the organizers’ decision in response to the controversy. The VHP expressed gratitude to the public for their swift response and urged organizers to avoid hosting similar controversial figures in the future. While Raina has removed all episodes of “India’s Got Latent” from his YouTube channel and pledged cooperation with authorities, the controversy continues.
