Sun Feb 09 18:36:00 UTC 2025: ## Congress Leader Slams BRS Chief Over Demand for Caste Census Resurvey

**Hyderabad, February 10, 2025** – Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud has strongly criticized Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao for calling for a re-survey of the recently completed caste census. Goud asserted that the survey, involving over 100,000 enumerators, was conducted scientifically and covered every household in the state.

Goud accused Rama Rao of making baseless allegations and attempting to undermine the Congress government’s efforts to uplift Backward Classes (BCs). He highlighted the Congress party’s fulfillment of Rahul Gandhi’s promise to conduct the census and warned that the BC community would not forgive the BRS for its perceived anti-BC stance.

The TPCC president further criticized the BRS’s 2014 comprehensive family survey, which was never released, questioning Rama Rao’s motives and suggesting his opposition stemmed from the Congress government’s commitment to BC welfare. Goud pointed out the irony of Rama Rao and his family not participating in the survey while advocating for a re-survey. He also condemned the BRS’s treatment of BCs during its ten-year rule.

Goud also alleged that the BRS lacks candidates for upcoming MLC elections and is subtly supporting the BJP.
