**Cuttack, India:** India secured an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series against England after defeating the visitors by 4 wickets on Sunday at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. Electing to bowl first after winning the toss, England posted a challenging 304 all out in 49.5 overs. India, however, chased down the target in 44.3 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process.

Captain Rohit Sharma led the charge with a magnificent century (119 runs off 90 balls), while Shubman Gill contributed a quickfire 60 off 52 balls. Other notable contributions came from Shreyas Iyer (44) and Axar Patel (41*). While Virat Kohli’s stay was short (5 runs), Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja (11*) steered India home in the closing stages. For England, Jamie Overton took 2 wickets.

England’s innings saw contributions from Ben Duckett (65), Joe Root (69), and Liam Livingstone (41), but Ravindra Jadeja’s impressive 3-wicket haul and contributions from Mohammed Shami, Harshit Rana, Hardik Pandya, and Varun Chakravarthy restricted England’s total.

India made two changes to their playing XI, bringing back Virat Kohli and replacing Kuldeep Yadav with Varun Chakravarthy. England also made three changes to their team.

The third and final ODI will be played on February 12th at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Hyderabad. The series win marks a strong start for India in their ODI campaign. The match was briefly interrupted due to a power failure causing the floodlights to go out, but play resumed without further incident.
