Sun Feb 09 14:57:55 UTC 2025: ## Retired Kerala High Court Judge Booked in Multi-Crore Fraud Case

**Kochi, Kerala –** A retired Kerala High Court judge, Justice Ramachandran Nair, has been named as an accused in a multi-crore rupee fraud case involving the alleged cheating of numerous individuals. Justice Nair, the third accused in the FIR filed by Perinthalmanna police on February 6th, is accused of falsely promising scooters and laptops at half price using CSR funds.

The primary accused, Anandu Krishnan, has been arrested and remanded to police custody. Also implicated is K N Ananthakumar, chairman of the National NGO Confederation, listed as the first accused. The case stems from a complaint by Danimon, a 49-year-old from Malappuram, who alleges he was swindled out of Rs 34 lakh through an organization called KSS Angadippuram. The accused allegedly collected payments promising subsidized goods but failed to deliver.

Justice Nair, who previously served as acting Chief Justice of Kerala and was appointed by the state government to probe the Munambam Waqf land dispute, denies the allegations. He claims to have been falsely implicated and insists he was only an advisor to the NGO, resigning last June. He also asserts that he doesn’t know the complainant.

The police investigation also implicates IUML MLA Najeeb Kanthapuram, who faces a separate complaint alleging a similar Rs 21,000 fraud involving a laptop. Police are conducting a thorough investigation into the widespread scam, which has garnered complaints from across the state. Anandu Krishnan has been taken to various locations in Kochi to gather evidence. The investigation continues.
