**Bengaluru, India –** International music superstar Ed Sheeran brought his “- = / x” tour to Bengaluru on Sunday, captivating the audience with a surprise performance of the Telugu hit song “Chuttamalle” from the film *Devara*. Sheeran shared the stage with the song’s original vocalist, Shilpa Rao, who helped him navigate the Telugu lyrics. Videos circulating online show the enthusiastic crowd’s reaction to the unexpected collaboration. Sheeran himself expressed his admiration for Rao’s voice on social media.
The concert wasn’t without its pre-show drama. Earlier in the day, Bengaluru police briefly halted a street performance by Sheeran and his team, citing a lack of permission. Sheeran later clarified on Instagram that the performance was pre-planned and had received prior approval.
The Bengaluru show follows successful concerts in Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai, where Sheeran collaborated with AR Rahman. Dot. and Armaan Malik opened the Pune and Hyderabad shows respectively. The tour, produced by AEG Presents Asia and BookMyShow Live, continues to Delhi and Shillong.
