NEW ORLEANS — With Super Bowl LVII underway in New Orleans, the NFL has already revealed its plans for the next several Super Bowls. The league announced the locations through 2030, with Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California hosting Super Bowl LX in 2026. This will be the stadium’s second time hosting the event.
Super Bowl LXI will be played at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California in 2027, followed by Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia in 2028. The locations for Super Bowls LXIII (2029) and LXIV (2030) are yet to be determined.
While the NFL has previously held Super Bowls in colder climates, Commissioner Roger Goodell reiterated the league’s preference for domed stadiums or warmer locations to ensure optimal playing conditions. This significantly reduces Philadelphia’s chances of hosting the Super Bowl, unless the Eagles invest in a new domed stadium. Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie acknowledged the need for future decisions regarding renovations or a new stadium, hinting at a potential opportunity if the team decides to build a new facility.
Despite Philadelphia’s long-standing absence from the Super Bowl hosting roster, New Orleans and Miami remain perennial favorites, having each hosted the event eleven times. Other cities with multiple Super Bowl appearances include Los Angeles, Tampa, and Phoenix.
Commissioner Goodell also hinted at the possibility of an international Super Bowl, suggesting that London could become a future host if the NFL establishes an international franchise.
