Sun Feb 09 09:21:37 UTC 2025: ## Bihar RJD Leader Downplays BJP’s Delhi Win, Claims Bihar Elections Will Be Different

**Patna, Bihar, February 9, 2025** – RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav dismissed claims that the BJP’s recent landslide victory in the Delhi Assembly elections will influence the upcoming Bihar state elections. Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, stated that the people of Bihar are distinct and that the BJP’s success in Delhi does not guarantee similar results in Bihar. He emphasized that the BJP’s return to power in Delhi after nearly 26 years necessitates fulfilling the promises made to the Delhi electorate.

While acknowledging the BJP’s victory, Yadav expressed hope that the party would deliver on its promises and avoid empty rhetoric. He also countered the BJP-NDA’s assertion of a pro-ruling coalition momentum in Bihar, stating that “Bihar is Bihar… it needs to be understood.” Yadav’s RJD party has secured the most seats in the last two Bihar Assembly elections. This statement comes despite Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister of Bihar and leader of the JD(U), being at the helm of the NDA coalition in the state for almost two decades. Kumar is seeking a fifth term as Chief Minister in the upcoming elections.
