CUDDALORE, Feb 9, 2025 – Over 1,500 police personnel will be deployed to ensure the safety and security of devotees attending the Thai Poosam festival at the Sathya Gnana Sabha in Vadalur, Cuddalore district, commencing February 11. Authorities have implemented extensive security measures including a 24-hour control room, a network of over 100 CCTV cameras, and 10 watchtowers. Medical teams and ambulances will be on standby throughout the festival. The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation will operate special buses to Vadalur. Eight temporary parking lots have been designated for two-wheelers and four-wheelers. Traffic diversions will be in effect from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. on February 11. The Jyothi Darshan, a special event revealing a holy lamp, is anticipated to draw large crowds. The security arrangements were reviewed on Saturday by the Deputy Inspector General of Police and Superintendent of Police.
