**Mumbai, India** – The 2016 romantic drama “Sanam Teri Kasam,” starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, has defied expectations with its re-release. The film, which initially underperformed at the box office, has already surpassed its original lifetime domestic collection in just two days.

According to Sacnilk, the film raked in ₹4.25 crore net on its opening day (Friday), more than triple its initial opening day gross. Saturday saw a further 15% increase, bringing the two-day total to ₹9.50 crore. This significantly outperforms its initial ₹9.1 crore domestic total and even surpasses the weekend earnings of recent releases like “Loveyapa” and “Badass Ravikumar.”

Lead actor Harshvardhan Rane expressed his delight at the unexpected success, stating, “It is a very soothing feeling… This makes you believe in what Shah Rukh Khan sir said, ‘Agar sab thik na ho toh woh the end nahi hai, picture abhi baaki hai mere dost.’” He reflected on the film’s initial failure and the years of perseverance since his debut.

Directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, “Sanam Teri Kasam” is a modern take on the legend of Shiva and Sati, drawing inspiration from Erich Segal’s “Love Story.” Its remarkable re-release performance serves as a testament to the film’s enduring appeal and a surprising second act for a Bollywood romantic drama.
