**Mumbai, [Date]** – The Bollywood box office is witnessing a clash of titans this weekend, as new releases struggle to compete against the re-release of Christopher Nolan’s “Interstellar” and the romantic drama “Sanam Teri Kasam.”
Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s romantic-comedy “Loveyapa” saw a slight uptick in earnings on Saturday, collecting ₹1.50 crore, compared to ₹1.15 crore on Friday. The film’s two-day total stands at ₹2.65 crore. However, its performance is overshadowed by the strong opening of “Sanam Teri Kasam,” which raked in ₹4.25-4.50 crore. “Interstellar,” also re-released this week, opened to approximately ₹2.25-2.50 crore.
Meanwhile, Himesh Reshammiya’s comeback vehicle, the action-comedy “Badass Ravi Kumar,” experienced a decline in earnings on Saturday. After a decent opening day collection of ₹2.75 crore, it added only ₹2 crore on Saturday, bringing its total to ₹4.75 crore. This is a significant improvement on Reshammiya’s last film, “Happy Hardy and Heer,” which earned only ₹90 lakh theatrically.
Both “Loveyapa” and “Badass Ravi Kumar” are facing an uphill battle against established films, and their success will depend heavily on word-of-mouth reviews and audience reception over the remaining weekend. The box office numbers for Sunday will reveal whether these newcomers can make a significant dent in the dominance of “Interstellar” and “Sanam Teri Kasam.”
