Sun Feb 09 08:37:08 UTC 2025: ## “Sanam Teri Kasam” Re-release Outperforms New Bollywood Releases
**Mumbai, India** – The Bollywood box office saw a clash of films this past weekend, with the new releases “Badass RaviKumar” and “Luv Yaar” competing for audiences alongside the re-release of the 2016 romantic drama “Sanam Teri Kasam.” Initial box office numbers reveal a surprising victor: the re-release.
While “Badass RaviKumar,” starring Himesh Reshammiya, and “Luv Yaar,” featuring debutants Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, garnered positive critical reviews, they failed to match the box office success of “Sanam Teri Kasam.”
According to Sacnilk reports, “Sanam Teri Kasam” raked in a significant ₹9 crore (approximately $1.1 million USD) in its first two days of re-release, surpassing its ₹8.3 crore lifetime collection from its initial 2016 run. The film earned ₹4 crore on its opening day and ₹5 crore on Saturday.
In contrast, “Badass RaviKumar” collected ₹4.75 crore (approximately $577,000 USD) over the same period, while “Luv Yaar” managed only ₹2.65 crore (approximately $324,000 USD). “Badass RaviKumar”, made on a ₹20 crore budget, saw an opening day collection of ₹2.75 crore, while “Luv Yaar”, despite positive reviews, had a sluggish start with ₹1.15 crore on Friday and only a modest increase on Saturday.
The unexpected success of “Sanam Teri Kasam’s” re-release highlights the unpredictable nature of the Bollywood box office and raises questions about the marketing and audience appeal of the newer releases. The performance of all three films over the coming days will be closely watched.
