**New Delhi, February 9, 2025** – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe corruption cases in Delhi, following its landslide victory in the recent assembly elections. The decision, announced at the party’s first cabinet meeting, comes a day after the BJP secured 48 out of 70 seats, ending over two decades in opposition.
Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva stated the party has “zero tolerance” for corruption and will hold those involved accountable. He cited the upcoming presentation of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report to the cabinet as a key step in this process. The SIT will investigate all corruption cases, Sachdeva confirmed.
Sachdeva attributed the BJP’s victory to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president J.P. Nadda, highlighting the voters’ confidence in Modi’s development agenda. He also commented on the Congress party’s continued electoral struggles, urging them to improve their performance. The BJP’s choice of Chief Minister, Sachdeva noted, will be determined by the party’s central leadership, mirroring the process used in other states.
