**New Delhi** – Avadh Ojha, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate and prominent civil services coaching teacher, has conceded defeat in the Patparganj Assembly constituency in the Delhi elections. BJP candidate Ravinder Singh Negi is leading by a substantial margin, securing over 63,000 votes against Ojha’s approximately 40,000. The Congress candidate trailed significantly behind.
Ojha, who ran in the seat previously held by former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, attributed his loss to a failure to connect with the electorate. He stated his intention to contest the next election from the same constituency.
Negi’s victory has been attributed by the BJP to the influence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was seen blessing Negi at a rally earlier this year. Negi himself credited the win to Modi’s campaign messaging. Interestingly, Negi and Ojha were seen shaking hands at the counting center earlier in the day.
Ojha, who joined the AAP in December 2024, holds a PhD in Hindi Literature and boasts a distinguished academic career spanning nearly two decades. Despite his qualifications and experience as a motivational speaker, he was unable to overcome Negi’s lead in this highly contested seat.
