**Puducherry, February 7, 2025** – The Botanical Garden in Puducherry transformed into a vibrant spectacle of color on Friday evening with the inauguration of the 35th annual Farm Fest. Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan and Chief Minister N. Rangasamy jointly opened the three-day event, which features a dazzling array of ornamental flowers, vegetables, and fruits.
The Agriculture department-organized fest showcases approximately 36,000 plants representing 19 varieties, cultivated by the department’s Horticulture wing. Visitors can admire Balsam, Calendula, Celosia, and many other species.
Beyond the floral displays, the event includes stalls from various agricultural institutes, including Krishi Vigyan Kendra and the Indian Institute of Horticulture Research. Nurseries are also present, offering seeds, plants, fertilizers, and pots for sale. The fest also incorporates technical seminars and cultural performances.
The Farm Fest, open to the public from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, promises a colorful and informative experience for all attendees.
