Sat Feb 08 07:23:20 UTC 2025: ## Naga Chaitanya’s ‘Thank You’ Scores Big at Box Office; Collects ₹16 Crore on Day 1

**Hyderabad, Feb 8:** Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi starrer “Thank You” has opened to a thunderous response at the box office, collecting approximately ₹16 crore gross worldwide on its first day of release (February 7th). This marks the biggest opening of Naga Chaitanya’s career, surpassing the previous record held by his film “Love Story.”

The film, directed by Chandoo Mondeti and based on a true story of Sri Kalahasti fishermen imprisoned in Pakistan, garnered positive reviews and strong pre-release buzz, leading to impressive advance bookings. Domestically, “Thank You” raked in approximately ₹10 crore net (around ₹13 crore gross) in India alone, with the remaining collections coming from overseas markets. The Telugu version contributed the majority of the earnings, while Hindi and Tamil versions saw comparatively lower collections. The film’s team is expected to officially announce the worldwide gross collection figures today.

The success of “Thank You” is attributed to both positive word-of-mouth and the lack of significant competition at the box office. The film’s performance bodes well for its weekend collections. Naga Chaitanya’s portrayal of Raju, a fisherman, and Sai Pallavi’s performance as Bujjithalli, have been praised by critics and audiences alike. The film’s success was celebrated by the cast and crew on Friday itself.
