**Bhopal, February 8, 2025** – A Muslim man was assaulted by members of a right-wing Hindu organization in a Bhopal court on Friday. The man, in his early twenties, had arrived with his 19-year-old Hindu fiancée to obtain marriage documentation.
According to police, the attack occurred in the afternoon. A video circulating online shows several men beating the man on the court premises. Assistant Commissioner of Police Akshay Choudhary stated that the woman claimed the man had pressured her to convert to Islam. The couple, who are from neighboring villages in Narmadapuram district, had reportedly eloped.
Police have identified the assailants as members of the Sanskriti Bachao Manch. Both families have been summoned to Bhopal to give statements, and the police are investigating the incident.
