**MUMBAI, INDIA** – The Bollywood romantic comedy “Loveyapa,” marking the theatrical debut of Khushi Kapoor and Junaid Khan, had a disappointing opening weekend. The film, a remake of the successful Tamil film “Love Today,” grossed only ₹1.25 crore nett in India on its opening day (Friday). This represents a low 9.56% occupancy across approximately 2,300 screens nationwide.

Directed by Advait Chandan, “Loveyapa” faced stiff competition from Himesh Reshammiya’s “Badass Ravikumar,” which debuted with a significantly higher gross of ₹2.75 crore. The film, featuring an ensemble cast including Grusha Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana, and others, received mixed reviews upon its release on February 7th.

While the original Tamil “Love Today” was a critical and commercial success, grossing ₹83.55 crore worldwide on a ₹6 crore budget, the Hindi remake reportedly had a significantly larger budget of ₹60 crore.
