Sat Feb 08 10:38:44 UTC 2025: ## BJP Sweeps Delhi Assembly Elections in Landslide Victory Over AAP

**New Delhi –** In a stunning upset, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured a resounding victory in the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, defeating incumbent Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in a landslide. Exit polls accurately predicted the BJP’s triumph, which includes the defeat of several key AAP leaders, including Kejriwal himself and his deputy, Manish Sisodia.

Parvesh Sahib Singh, who defeated Kejriwal, is among the frontrunners to become the next Chief Minister. While AAP’s Atishi managed a win in Kalkaji, Sisodia conceded defeat in Jangpura. The Congress party, once again, failed to secure a single seat in the 70-member assembly.

The BJP’s campaign focused on issues such as the pollution of the Yamuna River, the liquor policy cases involving Kejriwal and Sisodia, and the cost of renovations to Kejriwal’s official residence during the COVID-19 pandemic. Voter turnout for the single-phase election held on February 5th was recorded at 60.54 percent. The BJP’s decisive win marks a significant shift in Delhi’s political landscape.
