**Seattle, WA – February 8, 2025** – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested four individuals, including an Indian national, on sexual assault charges. Jaspal Singh, 29, a citizen of India, was arrested on January 29th in Tukwila, Washington, and charged with “assault with sexual motivation.” The other three individuals are citizens of Mexico, Guatemala, and El Salvador. All four remain in ICE custody pending deportation proceedings.
ICE Seattle Field Office Director Drew Bostock stated that protecting communities and preventing further victimization are paramount. The arrests, he added, demonstrate a zero-tolerance policy towards illegal criminal activity.
The arrests come amidst a heightened focus on immigration enforcement under the Trump administration, which has pledged to deport millions of undocumented immigrants and strengthen border security. Since President Trump’s inauguration, federal immigration authorities have arrested over 8,000 individuals. Daily apprehensions have already exceeded last year’s average under the previous administration, according to CNN. While the administration has not disclosed specific deportation targets for this year, the increased enforcement activity is evident.
