Sat Feb 08 11:29:42 UTC 2025: ## BJP Faces Multiple Contenders for Delhi Chief Minister Post After Landslide Victory

**New Delhi** – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured a resounding victory in the Delhi Assembly elections after a 26-year absence from power. However, the party’s success has brought forth a flurry of potential candidates vying for the Chief Minister’s position. While the BJP has a history of surprising choices for Chief Ministers in other states, several strong contenders have emerged in Delhi.

Among the frontrunners is Parvesh Verma, a two-time MP known for his outspoken views and controversial statements. His victory over AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal adds weight to his candidacy. However, his past comments, including calls for a boycott of a certain community, may prove controversial.

Virendra Sachdeva, Delhi BJP president, is another prominent contender, largely credited for uniting the party and leading it to victory. He has consistently expressed confidence in the BJP’s ability to form a government.

Bansuri Swaraj, daughter of late External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, is a rising star in the party. Elected as an MP last year, her appointment to key positions within the party signifies her growing influence.

Dushyant Gautam, a national general secretary and former Rajya Sabha MP, and Manoj Tiwari, the only sitting BJP MP re-nominated for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, also represent significant contenders. Tiwari, a popular actor-turned-politician, enjoys considerable support among migrants from eastern Uttar Pradesh and western Bihar.

The final decision on who will lead the BJP government in Delhi rests with the party’s central leadership. The coming days will be crucial in determining which of these prominent figures will ultimately be chosen to lead the national capital.
