Sat Feb 08 06:20:25 UTC 2025: **Ahmedabad Bullet Train Station Construction Site Hit by Fire; No Injuries Reported**

AHMEDABAD, INDIA (February 8, 2025) – A fire broke out at the under-construction Sabarmati bullet train station in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, early Saturday morning. The blaze, which started around 6:30 a.m., was brought under control by 13 fire tenders. No injuries or casualties were reported.

According to officials from the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), the fire originated on the roof shuttering of one section of the construction site. Preliminary investigations suggest that welding sparks from temporary shuttering work may have been the cause. NHSRCL officials are currently monitoring the situation.

The Sabarmati station is part of the larger 508-km Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project, which spans Gujarat and Maharashtra and includes 12 planned stations. A full investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
