Fri Feb 07 18:27:03 UTC 2025: **Delhi Election Results Expected Saturday: BJP Predicted to Win, AAP Claims Victory**

NEW DELHI – The results of the Delhi Legislative Assembly elections, held on Wednesday, February 5th, are expected to be announced on Saturday, February 8th. A voter turnout of 60.42% was recorded. Vote counting begins at 7:00 AM and is expected to conclude by 6:00 PM.

Most exit polls predict a BJP victory, marking a potential return to power after a 27-year absence. However, several exit polls predicted a landslide win for the incumbent Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). One exit poll projected a hung assembly. The conflicting predictions have heightened anticipation for the official results.

The election is a significant contest between BJP and AAP, with key figures like Chief Minister Atishi (AAP), Arvind Kejriwal (AAP), and BJP candidates Parvesh Verma and Ramesh Bidhuri vying for seats. AAP claims to have internal data showing a victory with over 50 seats.

The campaign was marked by allegations and counter-allegations. AAP accused BJP of attempting to poach its candidates through “Operation Lotus,” offering bribes of ₹15 crore. BJP vehemently denied these claims, calling them false and intended to damage their reputation. The Anti-Corruption Bureau is investigating the allegations, having summoned Arvind Kejriwal for questioning.

The Election Commission has implemented a three-tier security arrangement at 19 counting centers to ensure a smooth and secure process. Official results will be available on the Election Commission of India’s website, eci.gov.in, and its dedicated results portal, results.eci.gov.in.
