**New Delhi** – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured a resounding victory in the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, defeating Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in a stunning upset. Exit polls accurately predicted the BJP’s triumph, which includes the defeat of key AAP leaders, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.
Parvesh Sahib Singh, who defeated Kejriwal, is a leading contender for the Chief Ministership. While AAP’s Atishi secured a win in Kalkaji, Sisodia conceded defeat in Jangpura. The Congress party, once again, failed to win a single seat.
The BJP’s campaign focused on issues such as the Yamuna river pollution, the liquor policy cases involving Kejriwal and Sisodia, and the cost of renovations to the Chief Minister’s residence during the COVID-19 pandemic. Voter turnout for the February 5th single-phase election was 60.54%. The scale of the BJP’s victory marks a significant shift in Delhi’s political landscape.
