Sat Feb 08 07:00:00 UTC 2025: ## BJP Leads in Early Delhi Municipal Corporation Election Trends

**New Delhi:** Early trends in the Delhi Municipal Corporation elections show a significant lead for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). While final results are still pending, BJP is currently ahead in a majority of seats. Initial reports varied slightly, with BJP showing leads ranging from 39 to 43 seats out of 70, compared to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which is ahead in approximately 27 seats. The margin of victory remains close in several constituencies, with some races separated by less than 1000 votes.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia are currently showing a slim lead in their respective constituencies. However, AAP’s Atishi is trailing in Kalkaji. The Congress party has failed to secure any significant gains so far.

The BJP’s strong showing, particularly in traditionally Muslim-dominated areas like Mustafabad and Okhla, is being attributed to the perceived influence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BJP leaders claim this demonstrates public faith in Modi’s governance. This election result represents a significant setback for AAP, especially considering their recent success in Delhi’s Assembly elections. Analysts point to a shift in the middle-class vote towards the BJP as a key factor in these trends. The BJP’s performance on reserved seats also indicates a strong overall performance. The final results and their implications for the political landscape of Delhi are eagerly awaited.
