Fri Feb 07 15:01:34 UTC 2025: ## Telangana Student Groups Demand Fee Reimbursement Release
**Hyderabad, February 7, 2025** – The Students’ Islamic Organisation (SIO) and NGO ASEEM have demanded immediate intervention from Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to release outstanding tuition fee reimbursements. The groups cite alarmingly low disbursal rates over the past three years, with no reimbursements issued at all in the 2024-25 fiscal year.
SIO State president Mohammed Faraz stated that the organization has collected data from approximately 300 students and plans to expand its investigation. A public hearing involving students from across Telangana is forthcoming. The groups also urged the government to compel colleges to return students’ original certificates, currently being withheld.
This action follows a campaign promise by the Congress party to address the needs of students from minority and backward communities, including timely scholarship disbursement. However, a year into the government’s term, the issue remains unresolved.
SIO State secretary Mohammed Hammaduddin highlighted the impact on students’ futures, stating that the withholding of certificates hinders job applications and further education opportunities. ASEEM General Secretary S.Q. Masood expressed concern that the lack of reimbursement could force students to drop out, negatively affecting their socioeconomic circumstances and further reducing already low higher education enrollment rates among Muslim and marginalized communities.
