**VISAKHAPATNAM, February 7, 2025** – The continued presence of the Waltair Railway Division, now renamed Visakhapatnam Division, in Visakhapatnam is being celebrated across North Andhra. The decision, announced by the central government, also confirms the establishment of the South Coast Railway (SCoR) Zone headquarters in the city.

The move has been welcomed by various organizations, trade unions, political parties, and residents who had actively campaigned against the division’s proposed merger with Vijayawada. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) state president and Gajuwaka MLA [Name omitted from original text] attributed the success to the efforts of Union Minister K. Rammohan Naidu and Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat.

Senior trade union leader Ch.
