**NELLORE, Andhra Pradesh (February 7, 2025)** – Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy questioned the progress of a project to establish 2,500 anganwadi centers in Andhra Pradesh under the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) scheme during a Lok Sabha session on Friday. He sought information on the status of the centers, district-wise, and reasons for any potential cost overruns or delays.
In a written response, Minister of State for Women and Child Development Savitri Thakur stated that the 2,500 anganwadi centers were approved for financial years 2023-24, 2024-25, and 2025-26, with each center allocated ₹12 lakh. Citing the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Ms. Thakur denied any delays or cost escalations in the project.
